WHAT IS TWUNK.EXE?

This is a TWAIN update which contains the latest version (1.6.0.1) TWAIN files
developed by the TWAIN Working Group. These files are for use in Windows 95
only and provide only the INTERFACE between a TWAIN software application and
a TWAIN datasource. The TWAIN datasource (or "drivers") for your specific
product are not included here.

WHICH PRODUCTS DO THESE NEW FILES WORK WITH?

Using the appropriate Windows software these will function with all Logitech(R)
Imaging hardware such as: ScanMan(R) Plus, ScanMan 32, ScanMan 256, ScanMan
EasyTouch(TM), ScanMan Color, ScanMan Powerpage, PageScan(TM) Color, FotoMan(R)
and Pixtura(R).

NOTE: If your Logitech product is more than a year old, please obtain the
Customer Support Document #2320 "Imaging Issues Under Windows 95" to determine
if you need a software upgrade.

WHAT DOES TWUNK.EXE FIX?

1) When attempting to Acquire or access the ScanMan or FotoMan from any application,
you receive the error "Unable to activate the TWAIN source...",

2) When attempting to Acquire Text from OmniPage(R) Direct AnyFont(TM) for Logitech
version 2.1, the scanning window never appears after selecting "SCAN", or

3) Any TWAIN error message when attempting to Acquire from within any 32-bit,
TWAIN-compliant host application.

WHY DO THESE SYMPTOMS OCCUR?

It is usually because of an incompatible version of TWAIN.DLL residing in the \WINDOWS
directory. This occurs after another 32-bit TWAIN application has been installed. If
at a later date, you decide to reinstall any 32-bit TWAIN application, this installation
may install the older TWAIN files again. For this reason, we suggest you keep TWUNK.EXE
around in case you need to reinstall it.

HOW TO INSTALL:

Included in TWUNK.EXE are this README.TXT and the following 4 files:
TWAIN.DLL 87328 12/11/95
TWAIN_32.DLL 77312 12/11/95
TWUNK_16.EXE 48560 12/11/95
TWUNK_32.EXE 69632 12/11/95

If you have not restarted the computer since the last scanning attempt, then restart it
now. The above files need to reside in the \WINDOWS directory. The easiest installation
method is to copy TWUNK.EXE to the \WINDOWS directory and execute it from there. Confirm
all overwrite prompts. You may need to go to START, PROGRAMS, DOS PROMPT and use DOS
commands to copy and execute it.
