 The BJ Status Monitor is Not Displayed

Ensure Enable bi-directional support for this printer is selected.

1 Open the Printer Properties dialog box.

2 On the Ports tab, select Enable bi-directional support.

In Windows Me, Windows 98, Windows NT4.0 or Windows 95, click Spool Settings on the Details tab and select Enable bi-directional support for this printer.


 Cannot Print in Background (Windows Me/Windows 98/Windows 95 only)

Check the amount of free space on the hard disk.

Background printing requires a certain amount of disk space. You may need to delete unnecessary files, or disable background printing.

Ensure that background printing is enabled.

1 Open the Printer Properties dialog box.

2 On the Page Setup tab, click Printer control... and select Background printing.


 Cannot Print Normally

When the printer port is set to ECP, cancel ECP mode and then try printing again.

Sometimes ECP mode disrupts normal printing.

1 Open the Printer Properties dialog box

2 Click the Maintenance tab.

3 Click Custom Setting to open the Custom Setting dialog box.

4 Clear the Set printer to ECP mode check box, and then click Send.

5 Turn the printer off and back on again.
