Subject: [kwnpsa-announce] GDPR -- Are You Compliant? Are you collecting date online?

Data collection is pervasive and relentless. Some of you may even be data collecting from your own group's or individual online presence. The European community introduced the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) that came into force as of May 2018 as a way to offer web users a degree of protection from the possible misuse of their data.

On Monday January 14th, we meet to discuss the pros and cons of the GDPR and how they compare with Canadian Privacy laws. Most of all, we discuss the GDPR and whether it affects you as sys admin and how the GDPR expects you to comply.

We meet in Room 1300 (*note the room change) at Conrad Grebel University College, 7-9PM.
