Meeting Notes
KW LinuxFest -- Saturday, 12 May 2017 (* New date)
- Date: 09 December 2017
- Present: Colin, Marc, Sean
- Regrets: Bob
- College strike is now over, however the impact on Colin's schedule is considerable
- the KW LinuxFest scheduled for January has been rescheduled to 12 May 2017
- in order to reduce Colin's LInuxFest work load, the other organizers will divide up the tasks
Action items
- Colin will serve as the group's hub and answer questions
- Colin will check to see if Vehikl will still be sponsor for the event
- will check with speakers to see if they are available for the new date
- will re-open paper submission for another determined amount of time
- Sean
- alternative venue location
- take care of mail server
- help Colin with website
- seek sponsorship
- will consult his father re: possible sponsorship, donor, etc. suggestions
- Marc -- once new venue location is found
- will take care of marketing
- will send around a budget plan to organizers for our total costs estimate
- ultimately to show to potential sponsor/donors
- will look for grant from the KW Community Foundation
- will look into possibility of Communitech sponsorship
- will post posters around town
- will supply a button-maker for the event
- as per previous plan, Marc will contact various Linux-related organizations and see if they could supply us with stickers for a sticker exchange table
- will try to organize a LibreOffice "Bugfest" or "Hackfest" or just an easy "QA triage" even

Still to Plan ...
- food -- Sean suggests pizza and drinks would be easiest ... unless we can get a sponsor for food -- Marc
- swag -- do we want any? estimate of costs needed for possible donation money to help out with this
- buttons will be free from Marc (button blanks come with the purchase of the button maker)
- other swag item suggestions?
Next meeting as per usual over Mumble unless we do another face to face.
