No, this is the first I’ve heard of it. Yes, call the police. And no, the PR committee has not really formed, but we need the papers to know about it.

Hi Neighbours! Has anyone else’s lawn sign been stolen? Laurie just
came back from town, intending to take a few pictures of the streets
lined with signs for the http://sobac.com/~stopthestink/ Web site and
remarked that there were far fewer signs then there were a few days
ago. And sure enough, our lawn sign has been stolen too.
I’ll be calling the police to report the theft.
And if the Media Relations committee has gotten off the ground, this is
something for a Press Release! Obviously, the Biogas proponents are
running scared, if they’re afraid of a few signs.

The Elmira Independent has a poll on the front page of their website, click here:
http://www.elmiraindependent.com/
I think everyone ought to answer the poll question (you can only answer it once, which is good because it adds veracity to the numbers). I just wish they had included an “all of the above” choice on the poll, because I think it will be bad in all the ways mentioned.
The Independent also has an article worth checking out: Anti-biogas movement heats up
as does the Woolwich Observer: Resident grills council over biogas
Green energy sources are good for all of us, but there are reasons why people don’t eat dinner in the bathroom. The Province of Ontario should not over ride municipal zoning.

Last night was the second great meeting that we’ve had in as many weeks. The first meeting was attended by 40 people and last night about 70 with at least half of those attending for the first time. Signs are popping up and there are more available so pass the word that we will meet again next Wednesday at 6:30 at the Community Center and bring your friends and relatives! We can win this battle, but only with your assistance. Sign up for a committee or two and let’s Stop the Stink!!
We had a great meeting tonight (18 August 2010). I counted about 65-70 people there.
Ed Speers has started to set up the committees (Finance, Publicity, Political &c). A full list will be posted here shortly.
The mailing list is being compiled, and those who signed up will get an e-mail with instructions shortly.
